Starting out as songs created by playing around with effects back in 2007, this album quickly became a full fledged album that was taken seriously by Agathan and completed in 2008. It features a wide range of styles, from minimal techno to ambient breaks to just plain ambient. Even though Subconsciousness, and Thoughts Thereof was finished in 2008 it never got a proper release on a label and we are happy to give it that proper release it deserves. The total runtime for this album is not the longest but a respectable 38 minutes and 7 seconds.
This project was started in 2008 and was finished early in 2009 while being headed by James Shain, the head of Cold Fiction Music. This album is full of songs that are inspired by the games of Nicklas ‘Nifflas’ Nygren. The 3 games of Nifflas’ that inspired these songs are Within a Deep Forest, Knytt and Knytt Stories. Nifflas sees his games as works of art and not just games and so are the songs that make up Crystal Greenlands. Nifflas is honored to have an album that is a collection of songs that are inspired by his games. The music ranges from ambient to ambient breaks to jungle and beyond. There is something for everyone on Crystal Greenlands: Nifflas Inspired Music.
Fading Starlight is the first album from lilmanjs, who is also the head of Cold Fiction Music. Made throughout 2009, the 5 songs on here are inspired by lots of the stuff on Hearts of Space and by ambient composer Jonn Serrie. Some of the songs on the album were experiments that turned into great songs, while others were thought out and made over many weeks. The album clocks in at 37 minutes and 52 seconds.
The first release in the Get to Know series brings Sage Taylor to the limelight. What a better way to decide if an album is worth getting than to hear music that the artist has made in the past. That is what this series of releases is designed to do. Sage has been making music for many years and over the years has become a very good undiscovered talent until now. This release spans from his 2006 album Cascade up to the forthcoming release Pigments of Your Imagination. Included are songs from the 2 albums that Sage says hold a special place for him: Manufacture Your Brothers and Clouds. Working closely with Sage, this release best showcases what he can do and how good he is.
Pigments of your Imagination, Sage Taylor’s 2009 album, began as an afterthought for 2007’s ‘Manufacture your Brothers.’ Where that album was decidedly warm and mystical (in the furthest-reaching senses of the words), POYI was to take a more relaxed, cooler (but not colder) route. The result was two years of experimenting with new techniques that ultimately ended up in a dubbier, more ambient sound, as opposed to the warm, almost hip-hop approach that permeated MYB. After the dust settled, the tracks were arranged, and what you see here is the final product of two years worth of work, rolled into an hour and sixteen minutes of chilled out ambient techno that’s pleased to finally see its release on a label, where others will hopefully enjoy it for a long time to come.
“Mathematical Random Experience” is our first album, which we started composing in the year 2006 till 2009. Many songs didn’t end on this release. The album begins with kind of melodic progressive trance with a psy twist. In the middle of the album it gets more full on with some variety in mood from positive to darker emotions, but still manage to run through smoothly. 3 cooperation songs are released with permission by the other artists’. Main composer on this album is Toman although some songs are made or influenced by Tenda.
Foxy Fruit Salad, debut album from Moxil & Taxil combines fractured industrial rhythms, live bass playing and ethereal pads with a glitch-hop sensibility that’s firmly rooted in the experimental outings of artists like Odd Nosdam and Boards of Canada. Though influence of the album comes from a very specific sector in electronic music, it manages to pick up many other styles of music and blends them into its mix. It is the hope of the musician behind this project that the listener of this album will enjoy it and its bite-sized tracks, play after play after play after play…
A long time coming this release is the first release that features songs from artists on the label and a few who are being introduced as artists on the label. Featuring everything from Downtempo to Psy-Trance and Ambient this release should suit everyone. Iced Over World introduces Riatsu, and the solo debut of Metylonia (one half of Psymachine). Iced Over World really shows off the talented artists on Cold Fiction Music while showing how different the music styles are.
Darwin or Darlose marks the solo debut of Metylonia. Metylonia is one-half of the group Psymachine, who have already released with the label. The album features a few different music styles ranging from Psy-Trance to Trance and Hardstyle. Darwin or Darlose wasn’t made in a matter of months though, as the songs were made over a period of a few years before they found a home on the album. If you’re into any kind of Trance music, you’ll love the album.
Sunrise in Space is all about piano and how it can sound over a long period of time. Each of the songs on this album are very long but do a good job of keeping you interested. The album features only 3 songs, but each song is very long and drawn out. If you like your ambient slow and dreamy, and with piano, this is for you. Inspired by the radio program Hearts of Space this takes you on a journey like you’re floating through space.
The debut album from Matt Wolfe is finally here. Featuring a lot of hand crafted beats and crazy layers of sound, this is one crazy good album. If you like any kind of electronic music, then this will be an album you will be sure to love for a long time to come.
This release is our first double MP3 release. This means that if it was on CD it would fill up 2 CDs. This album comes from Louigi Verona and is minimal ambient music that guides you through space and through the peaceful parts of earth. Drones of Nature was made in 2008, but hasn’t found a home till this year and we are proud to release it.
We are proud to bring more ambient music to you. This is the first EP from Protofuse on the label and we couldn’t be happier to release it. It features a few songs with minimal beats, but overall it is really more on the ambient side. If you like your ambient to be minimal and to have sparse beats at times then this is the EP for you.
This split EP marks our first full Dub Techno release on the label and we couldn’t be more happy than to have Textural Being and DeepWarmth release with us. Both artists are up and comers in the Dub Techno scene and we are proud to release their first split EP here on the label. The split EP was inspired by Dublicator, Grit, Coppice Halifax, Hieronymus and Thomas Fehlmann. Also if you liked Sage Taylor’s album on our label then you should also love this one.
This is our first release from Melomake, which is an EP called Pieces. It features ambient melodies that are accompanied by minimal beats. The combination of melodies and feeling of atmosphere portrayed in the release would make it perfect for a movie soundtrack or as background music in an atmospheric game. The tracks are 320 kbps MP3s, which provide a higher quality of sound.
