Our latest release on the label comes from new artist Sck, who brings us a spacey deep techno release. The feel of the release is best summed up by Sck himself:
I was always attracted to something cosmic, mysterious and unattainable in our world. I tried to convey my thoughts and feelings into music. I suggest to listen and to think about issues such as … Are we alone in the universe? Who besides us? Welcome to the unknown …….Welcome to cosmo…….
Kasstedy makes his debut on CFM with a great Chillout/Downtempo release. A very unknown artist, this release will get you wanting more from him. His use of atmosphere and beats is almost perfect. Throw in some soothing voice work as well and even a little bit of a MLK Jr. speech on the first track and you can see he’s got the chillout music down very well. If you are into any sort of Downtempo this album is for you. To sum up what you get on the album, its Soothing Voice work going over great Ambient Atmospheres and Trip-Hop drum lines.
The 3rd entry in the Droning series centers around the theme of water. This time around though we have 2 songs instead of a single song that happened in the earlier releases. Louigi says the theme of water brought these 2 tracks together for this release and also says that whatever kind of water it makes you think of is all up to you. So relax with these 2 pieces of floating music centered around water.
Sage Taylor is back for another release on the label, this time bringing Space Ambient to you. Distant Constellation is a collection of Drones from his 404? days and features an unreleased tune as the title track of the album. Floating away into space is what you’ll be feeling, but at the same time a sense of melody while very slow and some great ambiance to go along with it. If you’re a fan of any of the previous Drone releases, you’ll be sure to love this album from a true master.
We are happy to bring more Ambient musics to the label from artist Spuntic. Spuntic coming from Iran brings sweet bliss and ethereal sounds for the EP. The album is a mostly floating slow journey but always moving. Tracks like Liquid and Celestial having moving pads to change up the pace of the album. Another great Ambient release on the label and an artist you’ll be sure to follow for some time to come.
Following the success of the first installment of CFM’s Futur[e]cho series, a plan for a sequel was soon put into motion. The rules remain the same, produce a track of dub or deep techno for listeners to enjoy, and the artists this time around have not let us down. Along with Coppice Halifax and Anton Mayer… Soap, Textural Being, ISA and DeepWarmth make second appearances, but are joined in 2012 by the likes of Zzzzra, Ocralab, Martin Nonstatic, Kogyo, Seth B and AXS, making the second installment of this ongoing series a very strong compilation both in talent and in substance. Futur[e]cho 2 expands on the sonic equations of the first by introducing tech-house and more ambient elements to the show, but largely the compilation remains true to its original purpose of showcasing current and upcoming forces in the worlds of underground techno and electronic music.
Bound of Reflection returns to the label with more Ambient music to sooth the soul. This time around is quite different than his earlier release The Birds. Where as The Birds was a lot of synths melded to create Ambient music, this release is quite the opposite. There are a lot of pads as well as some synths with soft beats going underneath to provide the different style on the album. Overall with the change in style, you can still hear the signature sound of Bound of Reflection. So if you don’t mind some soft beats in your Ambient this is for you.
DeepWarmth returns to the label for the second time with another release. This time around he’s diving into the slower side of Dub Techno while still keeping his same style as heard on DW/TB: Split EP. The Delayed snares are still around, but less present and the smoothness is more apparent in this release. Though he ends out the release with a slight change in style with Released Air. More Ambient Techno than anything, its slow build is not one to be missed. He’s also joined by 2 label mates, Coppice Halifax and Textural Being, who give their interpretations of 2 tracks on the release. If you’re a fan of Dub Techno, this is sure to please.
Our 39th release on the label is an EP full of Dark Space Ambient from Hyperreality. Hints of light shine throughout the release, but you really feel the cold darkness of outer space with this release. How to listen to this properly? As the artist states, space ambient should be visualised to when you’re alone, in the dark so try listening to this fantastic release of Dark Space Ambient when you’re alone and about to fall asleep.
After self-releasing the album Inertia, we are proud to bring you the b-sides and outtakes album Inertia Sessions. Sage Taylor brings more of the IDM side from Pigments of Your Imagination to the front with his follow up to that album. Inertia Sessions takes songs that didn’t make the main album and brings them in their own light on the album. Ranging from Leftfield to mellow IDM and beyond this album showcases that the leftovers from Inertia are just as good, even if they aren’t of the same style or feel as the tracks on Inertia. Tracks like Fuego and Spiral Wind showcase a great more minimal style of IDM with tracks such as Lambent and Terminus showcasing a more leftfield style of fast drums in an almost breakbeat style. Louigi Verona brings us the soundtrack to his maze game 15 Orbs of Votsor. This time around, it’s a different sounding release than the releases that he’s done with us in the past. He fuses his dronescape sound and atmosphere into Ambient Techno and at times dubby Ambient Techno and smooth IDM. There are a couple of straight up Ambient tracks, but most of it is Dronescape atmosphere with flowing basslines and Ambient Techno grooves. While the sound is different, this is a high quality release from Louigi. Grab the game itself here.
Chrome Rainbow returns to the label with his second release Hourglass. A more complex and more organic sounding release, he melds layers of synths with pianos over the top to provide music that sounds like his style from his first release Beside Yourself though in a more complex tone. This is a great album to chill to on a Sunday afternoon or what have you. If you prefer your electronic music to be slower and more chill, this is perfect.
Pobedia joins the label with a release that brings stylings of Quantec and Ohrwert with his own touch. 8 tracks of lush chords and subtle basses for a great Dub Techno and Deep Techno release. His subtle chords and basses make for a deep and chill Dub Techno release that is perfect for night time listening or for a weekend doing things around your place.
Satoi joins the label with a 3 track EP full of Deep Techno and a single ambient tune. His style of Deep Techno is quite different than what you’d expect, with vibrant melodies at times like on the track Hate Us. His atmospheres are very lush and static at times as well like in the first track Hinder. An artist to watch in the coming years is Satoi and with his first release, he really shows off what he can do.
DeepWarmth is back on the label releasing an album from his early days titled Sound of Night. This album has some of his first shots at making Ambient Techno and you can hear the sound evolve on tracks like Floating Night which starts off with a deep pad and a rhodes hit and ends up with a subtle kick going off into the distance as the song ends. For those who are into the smoother side of Techno Sound of Night melds Techno beats with The ambient sound that defines a lot of what DeepWarmth is.
