Minus Degrees

SecondFace
Release: CFM030
Running Time: 36 minutes 09 seconds

SecondFace makes his mark on the label with his first release. An Ambient release that floats from start to finish. The album starts off with Nightfall (Down Remix) that just melds great melodies with a spacey mood and adds in drums towards the end. This track is the only one with drums though. The rest give you a feeling of going through space and landing on a planet just in time for Winter. If you have loved any of our past Ambient releases, this one is for you. An album you should not miss.
Louigi Verona returns to the label with his second entry in the Droning series. A long floating piece of Ambient music, this is a tune to get lost in. A single tune that doesn’t feel like it rushes to the end, nor does it feel like you’re never wanting the tune to end. Release: CFM028
Running Time: 50 minutes 1 second
Chronos: The Battle For is a 10 track album that is designed to be a soundtrack sampler for a fictional RPG. The project was inspired by the game Pier Solar and The Great Architects. The album starts off with the quiet and moody piano track Lumi, and then goes into an acoustic guitar and strings track Explorers in The Forest. The album is a great Ambient album to relax to, and should remind you of the olden days of RPGs. A great album for lovers of Ambient and video games.

Release: CFM027
Running Time: 46 minutes 46 seconds
Louigi Verona returns to the label for another release, this time starting off a series of releases entitled Droning. Droning is an ongoing project to produce a great number of drone recordings of praiseworthy duration and extreme static nature. It is also intentionally positioned in no particular way. It is not announced as a work of art, nor it is presented as not a work of art. In fact, the only thing said about “droning” is that it is a project to create certain type of audio recordings. What you get are those audio recordings. How you use them and how you understand them is up to you.

A Chance of Weather

lilmanjs
Release: CFM026
Running Time: 53 minutes 5 seconds

A Chance of Weather is the first album that lilmanjs started work on back in late 2009. The album features 12 tracks of IDM and Ambient music, as it was designed to be half IDM and half Ambient to flow very nicely. You can see how far lilmanjs came in music making just by listening from start to finish – from his first track ever, Blue Skies Turning Grey, to later tracks like Interlude (Sky Guitar) and Peacefull Weekend. The album ends with the epic 15 minute track Lakeside Reflections In Spring (Winter into Spring Mix). The album should please both Ambient lovers and IDM lovers.

Futur[e]cho

Various Artists
Release: CFM024
Running Time: 1 hour, 22 minutes, 38 seconds

After months of planning and hard work, Cold Fiction Music’s third V.A. compilation arrives. Futur[e]cho began as an idea after the unexpected positive response of the first entirely dub-oriented release on the label: the DeepWarmth/Textural Being Split EP. Originally the idea of collecting people to work on a deep, dubby techno compilation album seemed too big for the scope of the label, but over time not only was the idea refined, but now the eight-month-long project is at an end, and the results are surprisingly good. The compilation, presented for your listening pleasure, features 11 notable artists in the present-day dubby, technoid scene. Coppice Halifax, Anton Mayer, Soap, Dublicator, Spiral Dub, Textural Being, ISA, DeepWarmth, As If, Spaceci and Fingers in the Noise all contribute works of art to the compilation, giving the final product a deep, ambient quality that was never anticipated when the idea was still just an idea.

And now, at long last, the release is open to the public, ready to make its mark in the history of Cold Fiction Music.
